We all know how developers are looking for agility now more than ever to meet rapidly increasing demands from customers. Millions of developers are making the most of containerization as one of the ways to increase agility. Container technology has actually been around for quite sometime, it was back in 2008 that Linux kernel introduced control groups that paved the way for container technologies we see today, Docker being one of the most popular.
What are Containerized applications?
They are applications built in a more consistent and repeatable way, by way of defining desired infrastructure, dependencies, and configuration as code for all stages of the life-cycle. Applications often start and stop faster at runtime too, which often helps quickly start, stop, scale out, and update in the cloud. With this in mind, Microsoft has recently announced its partnership with Docker to integrate Docker Desktop more closely with Microsoft Azure and the Visual Studio line of products. Read on to get the inside scoop on this winning partnership.
